Changing Lives Ministries was registered in 2003 with South Africa’s Social Development Department as a Non Profit Organisation which cares for and uplifts children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected and orphaned.

2008 CLM was registered as a PBO (Public Benefit Organisation) with SARS, which means they can issue tax certificates to donors. PBO number is 930027907.
CLM in 2002 started an orphanage in Diepsloot how it soon outgrew the space so CLM moved the 12 children from Diepsloot and rented a plot on the Lanseria Road and it has now grown to 17children between the ages of 13months to 18years. Our 18year old has been with us since she was 8years old when her mother became very ill and then 4years later she was orphaned and is now in grade 10.

All our children attend good schools as we want them to have a good education and so therefore CLM has to pay school fees between R500 to R1300 per month per child a total of R8500 per month.

All 17 children are legally placed by Social Development however CLM only receives foster care grants of R710 per child for 6 children and place of safety grants for 2 children, .which is  +- R16per day, per child.

The biggest challenge is that Milly’s vehicle, a 2002 VW Microbus which is used exclusively for the charity has clocked up more than 400,000 km and is giving a lot of trouble. It keeps breaking down.

The Microbus is desperately needed to transport the children to and from 5 different schools and is used to pick up the vegetables and food from the various shops and various donations and to take the children to Church on Sundays and various other activities that a school life demands.
