About SAID
The Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) is not a homing organization. They have been providing professional veterinary services since 1958.
Teams of Animal Welfare Assistants in vehicles equipped with two-way radios and veterinary supplies are dispatched daily to various areas (including Tembisa, Winnie Mandela Park, Ivory & Ebony Parks, Diepsloot, Olievenhoutbosch, Mooiplaas, and Cosmo City) responding to emergency calls from the SAID headquarters.
SAID provides preventative treatments & vaccination against infectious diseases to those who cannot afford treatment for their animals. SAID also provides the necessary knowledge & facilities to low- and no-income earners in order to educate them on providing the necessary & vital care their animals deserve.
In addition, the Society is dedicated to the education of children and educates 14, 000 children in 63 schools each year.
